Michael DeSiato is a seasoned financial expert with over four decades of experience in public accounting. He began his career in 1977 after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Florida International University (FIU) and later returned to complete a Master’s degree in Taxation. As the Managing Partner of his firm, Mike played a pivotal role in its growth and led its successful acquisition by a national firm in the late 1990s. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively with mid-sized businesses and their owners, providing strategic tax and financial advisory services, earning their trust as a key business advisor.

Around a decade ago, Mike recognized a growing demand among his clients for guidance on business exits. Responding to this need, he pursued specialized training and earned multiple certifications, including the Certified Exit Planner (CExP), Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), and Certified Value Growth Advisor (CVGA) designations. With these credentials, he expanded his expertise to focus on exit planning, helping business owners transition successfully while maximizing value and aligning with their personal and financial goals.

To formalize his commitment to exit planning, Mike founded Business Transition Specialists, LLC, where he assists mid-sized business owners in navigating one of the most significant financial events of their lives—the successful transition out of their businesses. In addition to his advisory work, he actively contributes to professional organizations, including the AICPA, FICPA, and the Exit Planning Institute, where he has served as the President of the Fort Lauderdale Chapter. A sought-after speaker on exit planning and taxation, Mike has shared his expertise at numerous professional forums.
